Little Gentlemen Bow Ties

An interruption of sorts between Christmas posts.
It's worth it {promise!}.

We're attending a wedding this weekend.
As in all seven of us {brave friends to invite us!}

Awhile back I found this adorable houndstooth fabric in brown and
used it for the playroom book sling.

So when I found the boys' shirts on clearance {gotta love Kohls!},
as usual I could only find combinations.
Sometimes {like in this case} I like it better...
3 of my boys in one thing, 2 in another.

Anyhow {sorry tangent!} I thought of this fabric for bowties
and was psyched to find it in these colors as well!
The dress shirts have blue and gray in them,
so these should tie {bad joke!} everything together nicely.

Being post Christmas our budget is shoestring tight,
so I found enough dress pants from E's old stash,
bought him a new pair on sale
and get this...5 pairs of shoes on Target clearance for $24 total!!
Yes, less than $6 a pair and while they are a little Spring-y,
they will be perfect and comfy for the wedding.

So, if you're in need of a last minute bowtie {or five} like me,
use this fantastic how-to
and make your own!

The only tweaking I did to steps in the tutorial
was to make the center band a little tighter so the
gathered pleats were more pronounced.

Aren't they sweet?!

I will be back to tell you all about it soon!
Can't wait to see how these look on my guys!
Happy weekend friends!!
